New Delhi : CBI to move appeal against bail to KARTI CHIDAMBARAM INX Media case. It was impermissible in law for the Hon’ble High Court to entertain the subject bail application when a bail application for the same relief was pending before the Ld Special Judge Patiala High Court. The Hon’ble High Court erroneously conducted detailed examination of the evidence on merits at the stage of bail, seriously prejudicing the case of the Petitioner.The Hon’ble High Court recorded erroneous findings on the statements of the witnesses. The Hon’ble High Court, despite recording a clear finding that there exists a nexus between Chess Management Services and Advantage Strategic Consulting, erroneously held that it is not sufficient to deny the bail to the Respondent. The Single Judge of the Hon’ble High Court granted bail to Karti on 23 March 2018.
